Paved and Gravel Biking
There are endless options for paved and gravel routes right out your door. Several options can include singletrack sections that are ridable on a gravel bike. Many routes can be easily cut short or lengthened depending on how you feel. Explore links under each route for more information.
Munger Trail to Jay Cooke Swinging Bridge
Round Trip Distance: 5.5 miles. Climbing: 275 feet. Bike on dedicated bike paths to Jay Cooke State Park. The swinging bridge is a fantastic vantage point of the rapids along the St. Louis River. Bring hiking shoes and explore the park hiking trails on the same trip.View the route on Komoot here.

Munger Trail to Carlton
Round Trip Distance: 7.5 miles. Climbing: 225 feet. Bike on dedicated bike paths to the nearest small town. Stop at our local favorite Streetcar Kitchen and Pub with outdoor seating in the summer. Kids can explore the playground at the Carlton trailhead for the Munger Trail. The bridge over the St. Louis River on the outskirts of town is an amazing overlook. Munger Trail to DWP loop
Distance: 19 miles. Climbing: 800 feet. Start on the paved Munger trail northeast and continue past Mission Creek trails and through scenic paths cut into the bedrock for the former railway. Climb the Clyde Connector to the DWP trail and return. The DWP is a gravel rail trail with scenic overlooks and a local favorite of a tunnel cut into the cliffs below Ely's peak.View the route on Komoot here.

Munger Trail to DWP and Skyline/Spirit Mountain
Distance: 25.1 miles. Climbing: 1,750 feet. This route extends the DWP gravel loop with an additional section of part gravel Skyline Parkway which connects to the upper Spirit Mountain trails. From there, adventure seekers can descend on the Candyland (green) or Happy Camper (blue) singletrack trails. Both are ridable on a gravel bike but front suspension will be more comfortable. Munger Trail to Cross City Trail to Duluth / Canal Park
Round Trip Distance: 38.4 miles. Climbing: 1,125 feet. Bike on a nearly complete route of dedicated bike paths to Duluth and Canal Park. Stop at breweries and restaurants in Duluth along the way. The Munger Trail will be a straight shot for about the first 12 miles. Turn around there for the easiest adventure to the edge of town or continue on a network of on-street and off-street bike paths into the heart of Duluth.View the route on Komoot here.

Everything, everywhere, on the same ride
Round Trip Distance: 43.5 miles. Climbing: 2,075 feet. Try a little of everything! Start with a fun descent into the river valley on highway 210. Climb back on Mission Creek singletrack, continue on the gravel DWP up towards Spirit Mountain. Descend on a flowy green singletrack. Connect to the cross-city trail that will take you to Canal Park.
