ABOUT US
Your hosts, Cory and Allyson, created this recreation property after many trips to enjoy the hiking, biking, skiing, and amazing nature viewing in the Jay Cooke / Duluth area. We live and work in the Twin Cities with our 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. We love to spend our free time relaxing in the forest and using the cabin as a basecamp for world-class adventures. We look forward to sharing this beautiful space with you!

EASY ON THE PLANET
Not all cabins are built with sustainability as a priority because it is something that doesn't show up in glossy photo galleries. This cabin was designed to be so energy efficient it can get all of its energy needs from on-site solar panels ("net zero energy"). Extra insulation, extra efficient heating and cooling, and extra air sealing and filtration. This also means extra comfortable. Did we mention free EV charging? More to come with a solar array arriving in 2025 to power your vacation by the sun.

Jay Cooke State Park
Only 0.4 miles to a hiking trailhead and 2 miles to the park office and famous Swinging Bridge. The rapids along the St. Louis River are stunning!
Munger Trail paved bike path
No traffic and no hills! This 70 mile rail trail will go to Jay Cooke / Carlton / Hinkley in one direction and to southern Duluth in the other.
Mountain bike singletrack
The Mission Creek trails are known for flow and family-friendly fun and are part of the city-wide trail network in Duluth. Bike from the property!
Spirit Mountain
All season fun at the local ski hill. Downhill and nordic skiing, lift accessed bike trails, an adventure park, and great views of the Lake.
Duluth
Tired of solitude? Get your fill of great food and craft beer. Check out the shops and sights at Canal Park. Explore the Duluth museums.
Lake Superior North Shore
The Great Lake has endless possibilities. Take a scenic tour. Stop at any of the 5 North Shore state parks within 100 miles of your stay.
